- With the 82-74 wire-to-wire victory, Louisiana Tech improved to 4-0 on the season which matches the best start to a season since 1998.
- With the win, LA Tech now leads the all-time series over Ohio State, 2-1.
- The Bulldogs have now scored at least 80 points in all four games.
- LA Tech improved to 4-10 all-time versus current members of the Big Ten. The last win before tonight came in 1985 against Ohio State in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regional in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- LA Tech has now won at a Power 5 school in each of the last four seasons -- 2012-13 at Florida State (ACC), 2013-14 at Oklahoma (Big XII) and Georgia (SEC), 2014-15 at Texas A&M (SEC) and 2015-16 at Ohio State (Big Ten).
- The Bulldogs are now 96-1 since the 2011-12 season when leading with five minutes to go in the game. The `Dogs held a 70-65 lead at that time against the Buckeyes.
- LA Tech outrebounded Ohio State, 41-40. The Bulldogs have outrebounded their opponent three out of four times this season.

- Erik McCree registered his fourth career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
- Jacobi Boykins scored in double figures for the second straight game, recording 16 points while knocking down three three-pointers.
- Jacobi Boykins, Erik McCree and Alex Hamilton combined to score 39 of the team's 40 points in the second half.
- LeAntwan Luckett posted double-digit points for the first time as a Bulldog, scoring 10 points which all came in the first half.
