Nov. 27, 2015 Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Opening statement:
"The guys really responded to the different defenses and made adjustments. They did a really good job in the second half of coming together, playing a little bit harder, but coming together. I give North Carolina Central a lot of credit for their game plan, but I give our guys a lot of credit for adjusting and coming together."
On speeding the game up:
"We needed to play off of our defense, both in the half-court and full-court. In the full-court, we needed to score a little bit. We started making a few shots and got to the basket. We certainly wanted to speed the game up and play at our tempo, instead of theirs. That happened in the second half and it really helped us."
On winning by 20+ even after rough shooting night:
"You have to control the things you can control. We always need a great effort offensively, with movement, but sometimes the ball just does not go in. Our defense has to be counted on. It is not even just causing turnovers. Sometimes you face a team that is taking care of the basketball, so we have to make people miss and rebound the ball."
On winning without Alex and Eric scoring in double figures:
"It is huge to have depth. I think we have some talented young guys on this team. Everybody has to be ready when their number is called and step-up, when the team asks for it. We had several guys do that tonight and I am very proud of them."
