POST-GAME NOTES

- LA Tech captains were Kentrell Brice, Vernon Butler, Kenneth Dixon and Jeff Driskel.

- Today's announced attendance: 19,028

- With the loss, LA Tech now trails in the all-time series versus Southern Miss, 32-15.

- The loss snapped the Bulldogs nine-game home winning streak.

- Despite the loss, LA Tech will go to a bowl game for the second straight season. The announcement will come on Dec. 6.

- LA Tech had seven turnovers in the game. The last time the Bulldogs committed more than five turnovers was the last home loss which came on Sept. 20, 2014 versus Northwestern State.

- This marked the third straight game played in the rain at Joe Aillet Stadium.

- LA Tech won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.

OFFENSE

- The offense put up 405 total yards, making it 11 out of 12 times this season they have recorded 400+ in a single game.

- The offense finished with negative two yards rushing. It marked the first time since Oct. 23, 1999 at Central Florida (-7) that the Bulldogs had negative yards rushing.

- Jeff Driskel threw for 355 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He was three yards shy of setting a new career high for most passing yards in a single game.

- With 355 yards passing, Driskel now has 3,572 for the season which exceeds his passing total from four years at Florida (3,411).

- With three touchdown passes, Jeff Driskel now has 24 on the season which exceeds his total from four years at Florida (23).

- Kenneth Dixon finished the game with negative four yards rushing, but had five catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns.

- With the two touchdowns, Kenneth Dixon tied the NCAA record for career overall touchdowns with 83 along with Keenan Reynolds (Navy) and Montee Ball (Wisconsin).

- It marked just the second time Kenneth Dixon has registered two receiving touchdowns in a single game.

- With the 43-yard touchdown reception, Kenneth Dixon now has 16 touchdowns (nine rushing and six receiving) of 30 yards or more.

- Kenneth Dixon has now scored a touchdown in 37 games in his career, one shy of tying the NCAA record.

- Kenneth Dixon has scored two or more touchdowns 23 times in a single game, third most in NCAA history. He has scored at least two touchdowns in 13 of his last 16 games.

- Kenneth Dixon has now scored 498 career points, the second most in NCAA history.

- Trent Taylor finished the day with 11 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown.

- Trent Taylor now has 19 career touchdown grabs, tied for the seventh most in program history with James Jordan (1998-00) and Roger Carr (1970-73).

- Trent Taylor now has 181 career receptions, moving him up to ninth in school history.

- Trent Taylor registered his sixth 100-yard receiving game. It was the eighth time of his career which is the sixth most in program history.

- For the season Trent Taylor has 1,133 receiving yards, the ninth most in school history.

- For the season Trent Taylor has 89 receptions, the sixth most in program history.

- Paul Turner pulled in six receptions for a team-high 112 receiving yards. It was his third career 100-yard receiving performance and the most yards this season for the senior.

- Carlos Henderson had five receptions for 60 yards. The sophomore has recorded at least five receptions in three of the last four games.

- Ryan Higgins came in late in the fourth quarter at quarterback. The redshirt junior went 5-of-7 for 52 yards and an interception.

- Jeff Driskel hit Kenneth Dixon for a 22-yard touchdown pass with 1:44 left in the first half, cutting the LA Tech deficit 24-17.

- Jeff Driskel caught Southern Miss on a blitz and hit Kenneth Dixon in the flat who took it all the way for a 43-yard touchdown with 5:11 left in the third quarter, cutting the LA Tech deficit to 24-17.

- Jeff Driskel found Trent Taylor in the corner of the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown with 3:33 left in the game.

DEFENSE

- The 555 yards of offense by Southern Miss were the most allowed by a LA Tech defense since Nov. 16, 2013 when Rice had 582 total yards. It was the most yards given up at home since Nov. 17, 2012 by Utah State.

- Beau Fitte came up with an interception late in the first quarter. It marked the senior's second interception of the season and the fourth of his career. He also had an interception at home versus Southern Miss in 2013.

- With Fitte's interception, LA Tech has now registered an interception in three straight games.

- Beau Fitte finished with a career-high 15 tackles, 12 of those coming in the first half alone. The most tackles by any player on either team after Fitte was seven.

- Vontarrius Dora came up with a sack with the Golden Eagles inside the red zone. The senior now has five sacks on the season and 12.5 for his career, the ninth most in program history.

- Kentrell Brice sacked Nick Mullens on a critical fourth down play on the one-yard line with two seconds left in the second quarter. It marked his fifth sack of the season and the ninth of his career.

SPECIAL TEAMS

- Jonathan Barnes nailed a 47-yard field goal with 4:33 left in the first quarter, putting the Bulldogs on the scoreboard. It was his second longest made field goal of the season.

- Jonathan Barnes was good on all three extra-point attempts, keeping him a perfect 55-of-55 this season which is the second most in program history.

- Carlos Henderson had 124 kickoff return yards, giving him 1,289 for his career which ranks seventh in program history.

- Gerald Shouse punted four times for 165 yards, an average of 41.2 yards per punt. One of the four was downed inside the 20.
