RUSTON, La. - Bianca Duran was 2-for-3 and drove in all three of Louisiana Tech's runs while also claiming the win in the circle with six shutout innings as the Lady Techsters blanked Abilene Christian, 3-0, in the Lady Techster Invitational in Ruston Saturday afternoon.
Duran (1-2) allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out two in facing 23 batters over six innings in the circle. At the plate, she was 2-for-3 with three RBI including a two-run home run in the sixth inning, her first home run of the young season.
Louisiana Tech (2-2) came away with the win after being held hitless through three innings. Abilene Christian (0-3) stranded five runners in the game, four of which were left in scoring position. ACU's Emily Seidel (0-2) was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Kassie Harris was 2-for-2 for LA Tech with a run scored while also drawing a walk. LA Tech's first run of the game came in the fourth inning as Harris ended Seidel's no-hit bid with a single up the middle. Kristen Miles replaced Harris as a pinch runner and then was driven in two batters later by Duran.
Harris was on base in the sixth with a single to center when Duran drilled a one-out first pitch line drive over the center field wall.
Louisiana Tech returns to action on Sunday as the Lady Techsters host Missouri State at 1:30 p.m.
