IRVING, Texas - Louisiana Tech's Victor Lange was recognized as the Conference USA Golfer of the Week after a strong start to his senior season at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.

Lange opened the 2015-16 season in familiar fashion, finishing 8-under 66 at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate hosted by Southern Miss at the Hattiesburg Country Club (par 71/6,902 yards). The senior fired an opening round 66 (-5), followed by rounds of 68 and 71 to finish in a tie for sixth. Lange did his best work on the par 5s, placing second in the field scoring (4.22/-7). He buried an eagle and 11 birdies to go along with 37 pars. Lange was the highest C-USA finisher in the event as Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Rice, Southern Miss and UTSA all competed.

This is Lange's first C-USA Golfer of the Week award this season and the third of his career (Sept. 17, 2014, Feb. 26, 2014).

Lange and Louisiana Tech return to action on Sept. 25-26 when the Bulldogs travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the William H. Tucker Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico.
