Box Score Oct. 14, 2016 HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Louisiana Tech (10-12, 1-5 C-USA) continued Conference USA play on Friday, falling to Southern Miss (15-6, 4-2 C-USA) 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-23) in Hattiesburg.
Angela Papach was the lone Lady Techsters to register double-digit kills with 11 and Marta Monne was on the border with nine kills. Brooke Short recorded thirty assists in the three-set match and Jacie McClure led LA Tech with 19 digs.
Defensively, LA Tech registered six blocks as a team and five came from freshman Jayde Penn.
Southern Miss was led by Stephany Purdue who recorded 12 kills and Kylie Grandy who had 11. Sarah Bell's 36 assists was a game-high. Purdue's 10 digs gave her a double-double in the match.
As a team, the Golden Eagles registered a .254 attacking percentage for the night, led by Grandy's .435 percentage.
Louisiana Tech will return to the Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston on Sunday afternoon, hosting Marshall in a C-USA match at 1 p.m. Admission to the contest is free and the game will be streamed live on CUSA.TV.
