Nov. 14, 2016 RUSTON ââ'¬" Playing in his first career game as a Bulldog, Louisiana Tech freshman DaQuan Bracey came off the bench to score 12 points at South Carolina which helped earn him the Conference USA Freshman of the Week award.
Bracey was not intimidated at all playing at an SEC foe in front of 13,000 fans. He ended up seeing 23 minutes of action, going 5-of-7 from the field (including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc) for 12 points.
The point guard also dished out two assists with zero turnovers in a game where LA Tech had pulled to within two possession with under four minutes to go, but was not able to come away with the victory.
Bracey is only the second Bulldog to receive Freshman of the Week honors since the school joined C-USA in 2013. Awards are chosen by a vote from a media panel representing the 14 member schools.
