RUSTON ââ'¬" As part of the California Bears Classic, Louisiana Tech will make one road trip to the west coast and have three home games.

The first of the three inside the Thomas Assembly Center comes on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. versus Maryland Eastern Shore.

LA Tech (2-2) remained undefeated at home this season after coming away with a 79-63 victory over Oklahoma Baptist. The Bulldogs have won 21 straight non-conference home games, dating back to December of 2013.

It was an odd stat sheet in the victory against the Bison. Two of the more consistent starters in Erik McCree and Jacobi Boykins had rare off-shooting nights, combining to go 6-of-26 from the field and 0-of-13 from beyond the arc.

Coming to the rescue though were Jalen Harris and Omar Sherman who combined to score 45 points. Harris, making his first career start at LA Tech, scored 19 of his career-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting. It was the most points scored by a freshman since Raheem Appleby tallied 30 in February of 12.

Meanwhile, Sherman was unstoppable in the paint in connecting 9-of-13 from the field for a career-high 21 points in only 21 minutes of action. The junior college transfer is shooting a team-high 66 percent from the field.

Despite McCree's shooting struggles (39 percent from the field and 10 percent from three-point range), the redshirt senior still leads the team in scoring and rebounding with an average of 13.5 and 5.5 per game, respectively.

Maryland Eastern Shore (0-5) opened the regular season with two four-point losses versus George Washington and UMBC. The Hawks are now in the midst of a five-game road swing and are still looking for their first win of the year after tough defeats at Boston College, Wichita State and most recently Colorado State which resulted in a 76-65 loss.

Eastern Shore has three players averaging double figures in scoring, including Bakari Copeland (13.8) Ryan Andino (12.4) and Logan McIntosh (12.0).

LA Tech and UMES have met only one time on the hardwood and that came five years ago in Laramie, Wyoming as part of the Jim Thorpe Classic. The Bulldogs came away with a 73-54 victory.

UMES is one of only three teams in the MEAC that LA Tech has ever faced in its basketball history. The other two are Florida A&M and North Carolina Central with whom the Bulldogs beat last season at home.
