RUSTON, La. - On Sunday afternoon in Denton, Texas, North Texas defeated LA Tech 3-1 (23-25, 12-25, 25-18, 15-25), snapping a three-game conference winning streak for the Lady Techsters.
With the loss to the Mean Green and UTEP's win over Florida Atlantic, the Lady Techsters will have their backs against the wall on Thursday, needing a win and a UTEP loss to qualify for the 2016 Conference USA Championships in Houston.
In the match, LA Tech was led by Angie Papach who registered 10 kills and 10 digs. Brooke Short provided 28 assists for the Lady Techsters, while Lala Aviles recorded 16 digs in the match. Alexa Lister helped pace the defensive effort with four blocks in the match.
North Texas was led by Holly Milam who recorded a game-high 22 kills for the Mean Green.
Louisiana Tech will now turn their eyes towards senior day on Thursday, when the Lady Techsters host Southern Miss at 7 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center.
