MOBILE, Ala. - Louisiana Tech sent three singles match to a third set, but were only able to come out victorious at the No. 3 spot as the Lady Techsters fell on the road to 41st-ranked South Alabama, 6-1, at the Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
Facing its stiffest competition so far this spring dual season, LA Tech (10-3, 1-1 C-USA) dropped the doubles point, losing consecutive sets.
Marta Sramkova was the lone singles winner as she defeated Michaela Meszarosova of South Alabama 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 and (10-6).
LA Tech couldn't make up any ground with the doubles point either, dropping both sets to the Jagaurs.
Three Techsters were defeated in straight sets, while Manoela Chiacchio and Jazmin Britos both forced three sets, but could not pull out a victory.
LA Tech returns home this Thursday to face in-state foe, UL-Lafayette at 2:30 p.m. at the LA Tech Tennis Complex.
