@LATechGolf Opens Play at Jim West Intercollegiate Monday

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech begins play in its final regular season tournament of the year on Monday when an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start begins competition at the Jim West Intercollegiate hosted by Texas State.

No. 58 North Texas and No. 60 St. Mary's headlines a 13-team field in Bastrop, Texas at the Wolfdancer Golf Club (par 72; 7,205 yards). St. Mary's returns after winning the tournament last year at 6-under-par 858. The Jim West Intercollegiate field also includes Abilene Christian, Lamar, Little Rock, No. 71 McNeese State, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, host Texas State, UL-Monroe, UT Arlington, UT Rio Grande Valley and individuals from Houston.

The Bulldogs have posted an 11-10 record against teams in this week's field and will get an early look at North Texas and Rice, a pair of teams that LA Tech will face in the Conference USA Championship on April 24-27. LA Tech is 3-2 against the Mean Green and Owls, combined, this season.

Victor Lange leads the team this week in his final regular season tournament as a Bulldog. The senior from South Africa, currently ranked 172nd in the nation, has a season scoring average of 72.83 with 10 of his 24 rounds this year coming in at par or better.

Seniors Ben Robinson (75.29 season average) and Chuck Spears (75.71) are also in the team lineup this week while Jake Pritchard (77.07), the only other senior on the team, is competing as an individual.

The Bulldogs will be paired with Lamar, Little Rock and host Texas State on Monday. A link to live scoring for the tournament is available at LATechSports.com.
