RUSTON ÃÆ'¢Ã¢'¬" Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State came into Sunday with the all-time series tied and it ended up staying that way as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in front of 155 fans at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.

After a scoreless first period and a 30-minute lightning delay, LA Tech (2-1-1) got on the scoreboard first with a goal scored by Kathryn Sloan. However, A-State (1-1-1) came up with the equalizer later on. Neither team could register the golden goal in the two overtime periods.

The Lady Techsters dominated possession for the first 45 minutes, outshooting the Red Wolves 9-0. The very first shot attempt came just 30 seconds into the match when Sloan crossed the ball to Jenna Dages who charged toward the far post, but her touch ended up going off the post.

Having trouble breaking down A-State's defense, LA Tech was able to go on a counter attack in the 50th minute when midfielder Stella Li delivered a through ball to Madison Doll who made a run up the right flank and then crossed it to Kathryn Sloan who finished it inside the far post.

It marked career goal No. 30 for the senior who has now scored a point in all four matches this season. She would later set the program record for career shots on goal after tallying a team-high four on eight total shot attempts.

With the Red Wolves only having one shot total through the first 75 minutes, the second one produced the equalizer when in the 76th minute Julie Chambers crossed it to Annica Karlsson on the right side and beat the keeper 1v1 from eight yards out.

With the heat and humidity draining each team, scoring opportunities were few and far between the rest of the second period and in the two 10-minute OTs.

The Lady Techsters did have one final chance for a golden goal. With just three minutes left in the match, Jaelyn Peeples boomed a free kick into the box. Doll was able to get a touch on it from close range but it hit off the left post.

LA Tech ended up outshooting A-State, 22-4. Faith Washington got the tie in net and was credited with one save.

The squad concludes its four-match home stand on Tuesday night when they take on crosstown foe Grambling State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
