POSTGAME NOTES

  • With the 59-45 win, LA Tech falls to 1-2 on the season.
  • Texas Tech now leads the all-time series, 2-0, over LA Tech

OFFENSIVE SCORING

  • Kam McKnight scored his first career touchdown on a one-yard carry, which cut the LA Tech deficit to 21-10 with 14:45 remaining in the second quarter.
  • Jarred Craft with a one-yard carry for a touchdown, bringing the score to 35-17 with 9 seconds left in the half.
  • Kam McKnight with his second touchdown of the game, a one-yard carry cutting the deficit to 35-24 with 10:24 remaining in the third quarter.
  • Carlos Henderson hauled in a 54 yard touchdown pass making it 42-31 Texas Tech with 4:40 remaining in the third quarter.
  • Trent Taylor reeled in a 76 yard touchdown pass from Higgins cutting the deficit to 52-38. That is a career long pass for Higgins and a career long reception for Taylor. That is also LA Tech's longest play of the 2016 season.
  • LA Tech's final score of the game came on a 37-yard pass from Higgins to Taylor with 23 seconds remaining in the game.

OFFENSE

  • Carlos Henderson hauled in a career-high nine receptions, for a season-high 130 yards. Henderson also registered a career-high 208 all-purpose yards.
  • For the tenth time in the last 15 games, Trent Taylor led the Bulldogs in receiving yards.
  • With his 166 yards receiving, Trent Taylor now has 2,798 for his career which moves the senior into fifth in Louisiana Tech history.
  • With two touchdown receptions, Trent Taylor now has 25 for his career, moving him ahead of Quinton Patton for third most in school history. Those 25 touchdowns also moves Taylor into the top-20 in Conference USA history.
  • Trent Taylor has now caught a pass in 30-straight games which ranks top-10 in the nation for longest active streaks.
  • Trent Taylor entered the game averaging 10 receptions and 118.7 yards against his last three Power-Five opponents. After this game, Taylor is averaging 130.5 against his last four Power-Five opponents.
  • Trent Taylor now has 11 games of 100+ receiving yards which ties him for fourth in Louisiana Tech history.
  • Jarred Craft registered a career-high 151 yards rushing, on 21 attempts which was also a career-high.
  • Kam McKnight entered the game not having scored a touchdown in his collegiate career. He scored two rushing touchdowns in the contest, one coming out of the wildcat formation.

DEFENSE

  • Secdrick Cooper recorded a career-high 11.5 tackles in the game. Cooper also had 3.5 tackles for loss, which is also a career-high.
  • In his first game seeing significant action, Cyril Noland-Lewis recorded three solo tackles.

SPECIAL TEAMS SCORES

  • Jonathan Barnesconnected on a 20-yard field goal to put Louisiana Tech on the board, trailing 7-3 with 4:06 remaining in the first quarter.
  • Jonathan Barneshit on a 27-yard field goal on the Bulldogs opening drive of the second half, giving LA Tech a 22-10 lead with 13:23 left in the third quarter.
  • Jonathan Barnesmade a 45-yard field goal, giving LA Tech a 39-10 lead with 4:16 to go in the third quarter.
