The game will be televised by SEC Network with Beth Mowens (play-by-play), Anthony Becht (analysis) and Rocky Boiman (sideline) calling all the action from Fayetteville. The broadcast will also be available to stream live on WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

"We are really excited about having an opportunity to kick off the football season," head coach Skip Holtz said. "We definitely have some challenges in this game, but to say that we are excited would be an understatement. We are really excited to get this thing kicked off. We are going to learn a lot about our football team. We are really excited about having the opportunity to go play a first class program as strong as Arkansas."

Saturday's game will mark the fourth meeting between LA Tech and Arkansas and the first contest ever played between the two teams in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks lead the all-time series, 3-0, over LA Tech with wins in 1901 (Ruston), 1996 (Little Rock) and 1997 (Little Rock).

PREGAME NOTES

  • Louisiana Tech enters the 2016 season after posting back-to-back nine-win seasons and bowl victories the last two years under fourth-year head coach Skip Holtz.
  • Arkansas ended the 2015 campaign with an 8-5 record and won six of its last seven games to close out the year.
  • Both quarterbacks for Louisiana Tech (J'mar Smith) and Arkansas (Austin Allen) will make their first career starts Saturday when the two teams open the 2016 season.
  • Arkansas has won nine straight home openers heading into Saturday's game versus LA Tech.
  • Skip Holtz returns to town after spending his teenage years at Fayetteville High School from 1979-82 while his father, Lou, was the head coach at the University of Arkansas from 1977-83.
  • Since 2000, the Bulldogs have faced an SEC opponent every year except three (2002, 2006 and 2013), but LA Tech has not faced Arkansas since 1997. Since then, the Bulldogs have played every other SEC West team at least twice.
