POST-GAME NOTES
- LA Tech captains were Ryan Higgins, Trent Taylor, Lloyd Grogan and Xavier Woods.
- Announced attendance: 20,105.
- With the 38-34 loss, LA Tech is now 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
- LA Tech still leads the all-time series over Middle Tennessee, 4-2.
- The Bulldogs won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.
OFFENSE
- The LA Tech offense put up 622 total yards, the second time this season they have registered 600+ yards of offense.
- LA Tech marched down for a touchdown on its first offensive possession. They have now scored on every opening drive this season.
- Ryan Higgins completed 36-of-59 for a career-high 504 yards and three touchdowns. He became only the third quarterback in program history to pass for over 500 yards and the first since Tim Rattay did it on Oct. 30, 1999.
- Trent Taylor set new career highs for receptions (17) and receiving yards (210). He became the 10th Bulldog in program history to register 200+ receiving yards in a single game and the first since Quinton Patton versus Texas A&M on Oct. 13, 2012.
- Trent Taylor has led the Bulldogs in receiving in 11 of the last 16 games (18 overall).
- Trent Taylor has 12 games of 100+ receiving yards, tied for the third most in school history.
- Trent Taylor has 234 career receptions which ties him for fifth in school history with Delwyn Daigre (1998-01).
- Trent Taylor became the fourth Bulldog in program history to eclipse 3,000 career receiving yards (now has 3,008).
- Trent Taylor pulled in two touchdowns, marking the third straight game he has multiple receiving touchdowns in a single game.
- Trent Taylor has 27 career touchdown receptions and is now all alone in second place in school history.
- Rhashid Bonnette came into the game with only two career receptions and had eight grabs for 94 yards.
- Carlos Henderson caught two passes early in the game, including a 70-yarder that went for a touchdown. The redshirt junior left the game with an injury and did not return.
- The reception tied for the second longest for Carlos Henderson. His longest was a 72-yard reception versus Rice on Nov. 29, 2014.
- Marlon Watts saw his first action of the season, catching one ball for 11 yards on the team's opening drive of the second half.
- Jarred Craft had 20 rushing attempts for 91 yards to lead the Bulldogs on the ground. He has rushed for 90+ yards in three straight games.
OFFENSIVE SCORING PLAYS
- After a bad snap, Ryan Higgins scrambled right and found a wide open Carlos Henderson who outraced everyone for a 70-yard touchdown, giving the Bulldogs an early 7-0 advantage with 12:54 remaining in the first quarter.
- Ryan Higgins found Trent Taylor for a 17-yard touchdown grab with 20 seconds remaining in the first half, giving the Bulldogs a 20-7 lead.
- An 11-play opening drive of the second half ended with a 9-yard catch and score from Ryan Higgins to Trent Taylor to give the Bulldogs a 27-7 edge with 9:15 left in the third quarter.
- Kam McKnight plowed it in for a one-yard touchdown run, giving the Bulldogs the lead back at 34-31 with 3:56 left in the game.
DEFENSE
- The LA Tech defense totaled six tackles-for-loss and one sack.
- The LA Tech defense held Middle Tennessee to seven points in the first half, the fewest for the Blue Raiders this season.
- Jordan Harris had a team-high nine tackles for the Bulldogs.
- Jaylon Ferguson had two tackles that both went for a loss. The redshirt sophomore also had two quarterback hurries.
- Jaylon Ferguson registered a sack on the Blue Raider's last play of the first half. It marked his second sack of the season and the eighth of his career.
- Dalton Santos led the Bulldogs with three quarterback hurries. He also had a TFL.
SPECIAL TEAMS
- Jonathan Barnes has now made 83 straight extra-point attempts after going 4-for-4 in the game. He now has 117 career extra points made which moves him up to fifth in program history.
- Jonathan Barnes hit on both field goal attempts and is now 8-of-10 on the season.
SPECIAL TEAMS SCORING PLAYS
- An 18-play drive ended with Jonathan Barnes connected on a 20-yard field goal to give the Bulldogs a 10-7 advantage with 10:31 left in the second quarter.
- Jonathan Barnes hit on a 49-yard field goal, giving the Bulldogs a 13-7 lead with 3:00 left in the second quarter. It is the redshirt junior's second longest field goal made (twice made from 50 yards in 2015).
