Bracey Selected LSWA Player of the Week

Averaged 20 points, six assists and two steals in week six

RUSTON – For a second straight week, Louisiana Tech guard DaQuan Bracey helped the Bulldogs register two victories and for a second straight week the junior was selected as men's college basketball Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

Bracey averaged 20 points while shooting 56 percent from the field and 57 percent from downtown, leading LA Tech in scoring in both wins over Mississippi Valley State and at Louisiana-Lafayette.  He also averaged six assists and two steals per game in week six to help the 'Dogs extend their winning streak to five.

This past Tuesday night at home versus MVSU, he posted a season-high 24 points (one shy of tying his career high) to go along with a season-high eight assists while committing zero turnovers.

He followed that performance up this past Saturday night at ULL by recording a team-high 16 points despite only playing 25 minutes due to foul trouble.

The Ragin' Cajuns had won 21 of its last 22 games at home and the 21-point defeat of the in-state foe was the largest for the Bulldogs in Lafayette since 1990.

He recorded multiple steals in both contest this week and was a key factor in limiting the Ragin' Cajuns 15th-highest scoring offense in the country to a season-low 62 points.

The Baltimore, Maryland native shared this week's LSWA honor with Bossier Parish Community College's Eric Parrish.

Bracey and the Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Dec. 22 when they host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 4 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.
