COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. (Oct. 8, 2019) – The Louisiana Tech men's golf team concluded action at the Intercollegiate at The Grove on Tuesday afternoon, wrapping up the rain-shortened 36-hole tournament with an 8
th place finish.

LA Tech shot a combined +10, 298 on Tuesday's final round, after Monday's second round was canceled due to rain. The Bulldogs slid up a spot from their first-round performance on Sunday after shooting a combined +14, 302.

"We just had too many doubles or more in both rounds this weekend," head coach
Matt Terry remarked at the conclusion of Tuesday's final round. "We are definitely making enough birdies to be in contention for tournaments. We have to continue to try to clean up those little things to make bigger moves in tournaments."

Junior
Mac Murphy paced the 'Dogs on Tuesday's final round, firing an even-par 72 to finish the tournament tied for 29
th place at +5 overall. Murphy birdied hole 11 and bogeyed 12, but otherwise shot even par across the board in one of the more consistent rounds for the Bulldogs in the tournament.

Sam Murphy joined his brother with a solid round on Tuesday, shooting a +2, 74 with the only eagle of the day for the Bulldogs. Murphy tied with his brother in the individual standings for 29
th place.

Trey Poteet was Tech's biggest mover on the day, after his Tuesday round of 75 (+3) slid him up 13 spots to 58
th on the individual leaderboard.

Sophomore
James Swash finished in a tie for 41
st at +8 overall, while
Lake Juban (T49, +9),
Blake Blaser (T49, +9) and
Hunter Battles (T71, +15) rounded out the individual standings for the Bulldogs.

Tech will take a couple weeks of practice before heading to its last tournament of the fall on the second of November, taking to the air for the White Sands Invitational in Nassau, Bahamas, November 1-3.
