RUSTON – After a big win at Mississippi State, the Louisiana Tech men's basketball team looks to carry that momentum to Sunday when they square off against Sam Houston State at 4:30 p.m. inside Johnson Coliseum.

The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Tom Franklin and Ken Holland calling the game.  Fans can also listen to
Dave Nitz and
Jack Thigpen call the action on KXKZ 107.5 FM (Ruston), KOKA 93.3 FM/980 AM (Shreveport) and KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield) as well as on the LA Tech Athletics app.

LA Tech (6-2) put an end to MSU's SEC-leading 26-game non-conference home winning streak this past Thursday with a 74-67 win, the program's sixth road victory at a Power 5 school since 2013.

The game was tied 11 times, but the Bulldogs from Ruston made winning plays down the stretch to pull it out.  They shot a blistering 63 percent from behind the arc, hitting 10 three-pointers with four of those coming from
DaQuan Bracey.

The senior guard, who is averaging 11.8 points per game, is shooting 48 percent from deep this season and has scored double-digit points in seven of the eight games.

This marked the fifth time this season and the third straight game that LA Tech hit 10+ three-pointers.
Kalob Ledoux hit two himself, bringing his team-high total to 15 while also averaging a team-best 12.2 points per game.

The 'Dogs also won the turnover margin, per usual, as they are forcing 18.1 TOs per game with a +6.1 turnover margin.

Stat wise, the defending Southland Conference regular season champion Sam Houston State (4-4) is fairly similar to LA Tech in that they are averaging around 80 points per game and also force a lot of turnovers (19.88 per game which ranks seventh in the country).

The Bearkats are 1-4 on the road, including a 90-86 loss in double overtime at UT Rio Grande Valley this past Wednesday, but they are a perfect 3-0 at home this season.  Since the 2016-17 season, they are 43-6 at home.

Offensively, they are led by Kai Mitchell and Zach Nutall who are each averaging 14 points per game.  The duo makes up for 35 percent of SHSU's scoring.

Sunday is the back-end of a home-and-home series as LA Tech downed Sam Houston in Ruston last season by a score of 76-69.  It will mark the seventh meeting between the two programs and will only be the Bulldogs (lead series 5-1) third visit to Huntsville, Texas, the last one coming in 1990.
