Bracey Named C-USA and LSWA Player of the Week

Averaged 25.5 points per game in the two wins over UTEP and UTSA

RUSTON – After helping Louisiana Tech remain undefeated at home this season with victories over UTEP and UTSA, DaQuan Bracey was voted as the Conference USA and the LSWA Player of the Week.

The junior guard ended up averaging 25.5 points per game while shooting 62 percent from the field and 39 percent from three-point range.  He also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

On Thursday night against the Miners, DayDay dropped a career-high 28 points, going 9-of-12 from the field, in the 71-57 win while also pulling down a career-tying six boards.

Defensively, he helped the Bulldogs hold the Miners to just 57 points which marked the sixth C-USA opponent this season to be held under 60 points for LA Tech.

Then on Saturday afternoon versus the Roadrunners, he had another efficient outing by putting up a game-high 23 points to go along with a team-high four assists in the 72-67 victory.

The Baltimore, Maryland native was clutch down the stretch, scoring six straight points after UTSA tied the game up at 64-64 with two minutes to go.  Defensively, the 67 points tied for the fewest the Roadrunners (the top offensive in the league coming in) have scored in a league game this season.

This marks the first C-USA Player of the Week award ever for Bracey.  He was a three-time C-USA Freshman of the Week award winner in 2016-17.  This is his fourth Louisiana Player of the Week honor this week.

LA Tech improved to 17-10 on the season and 7-7 in C-USA play while upping its home record to 14-0.  Bracey and the Bulldogs will now begin bonus play on Saturday, Feb. 23 at home against North Texas.
