LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Tech Track & Field wrapped up its first competition of the outdoor season on Saturday with several notable performances from the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters at the ULL Classic in Lafayette. Â

Over the course of the weekend, Louisiana Tech's men and women brought home a pair of first place finishes and nearly 30 marks that ranked in the top 10 among the field competing in the two-day outdoor meet, including 14 top five marks.

LA Tech had three Lady Techsters finish in the top 10 in the women's discus with
Rhea Thompson winning the event with a mark of 153-3 (46.71m), while Aliyah Ballot and
Alexis Jones placed third and ninth, respectively.

On the men's side,
Tre' Williams took home first place in the 400m hurdles after he posted a final time of 53.07 to win the event. Fellow teammate
Lanorris Graden followed closely behind in third place with a time of 54.33 in the men's 400m hurdles.

Louisiana Tech's women put together 15 top-10 finishes on the weekend, including seven marks that ranked in the top five, while the Bulldogs had 14 top 10 marks and seven that ranked in the top five.

LA Tech returns to action on March 22 when the team travels to Starkville, Mississippi, to compete in the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays hosted by Mississippi State.
