RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech held its annual Pro Day on Tuesday afternoon with 13 Bulldogs participating in a variety of drills and testing on a sunny afternoon inside Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.
 
Representatives from all 32 teams in the National Football League were in attendance to watch the Bulldogs show off their skills on the gridiron Tuesday.
 
"This is a really special day for these seniors," head coach Skip Holtz said. "I watch so many of these guys running through the drills and you think back to sitting in living rooms recruiting them when they were 18 years old and chose to come to Louisiana Tech. "To see the growth and development they have had as people and then to come out here and have this opportunity is nice to see."
 
Scouts and onlookers had the opportunity to watch the following Bulldogs in action on Tuesday afternoon: Jordan Bradford (DT), Shane Carpenter (OL), Secdrick Cooper (S), O'Shea Dugas (OL), Davan Dyer (P), Jaylon Ferguson (DE), Keonatye Garner (DT), Kam McKnight (RB/WR), Michael Rodriguez (OL), Hanner Shipley (OL), Immanuel Turner (DE), Teddy Veal (WR/PR) and Dae'Von Washington (LB).
 
"I wasn't nervous, but it was more like an anxious feeling getting ready for today," Ferguson, who is the NCAA's all-time career sack leader, said of his performance on Tuesday. "I am here to show everything people missed out on at the Combine. This is my Combine. At this point, I am just looking forward to the draft, workouts and visits. I know these guys are not all out here just to see me. We've got at least 10 other guys out at Pro Day today, so there are a lot of eyes on a lot of good players out here, so I feel like this helps more than just myself today."
 
Ferguson, who is projected as high as a first round pick in next month's NFL Draft, recorded 24 reps on the bench press on Tuesday, while Bradford led the way for the Bulldogs with 27 reps on the bench. Dae'Von Washington led the Bulldogs with a 40.5-inch vertical, following by Veal (36-inch) and Ferguson (32-inch), while Ferguson also posted a mark of 9-9 in the broad jump and was timed as fast as 4.75 in the 40-yard dash. Veal led all LA Tech players with a time between 4.64 and 4.69 in the 40-yard dash.
 
"All 32 NFL teams are here to evaluate what these guys are doing," Holtz said. "Every step is going to be analyzed, evaluated and timed. It is a special day and these guys are fighting to make a living and a career now. I certainly think several of these guys have a chance to make an NFL roster this year."
 
The participating players will now await the 2019 NFL Draft, which is set for April 25-27 in Nashville.
