RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech freshman Lindsay Edwards and LSU senior Amanda Sanchez share this week's Louisiana Sports Writers Association State Softball Hitter of the Week award while Northwestern State sophomore Samantha Guile is the Pitcher of the Week.

Sanchez batted .700 for the week while leading the Tigers to a 3-1 mark. She recorded seven hits, including three home runs, with four runs scored and 10 RBI in a midweek game against Nicholls State and a weekend SEC series against South Carolina. She had a pair of home runs in the Tigers series clinching Sunday win over the Gamecocks.

Edwards batted .625 for the week while leading the Lady Techsters to a perfect 4-0 mark, including a three-game road sweep over UTSA in Conference USA action. She totaled 10 hits, including one double, one triple and one home run, scored six runs and drove in eight more. She registered three 3-hit games in Tech's sweep over UTSA.

Guile led Northwestern State to four wins on the week, recording a 3-0 mark in the circle with a 0.50 earned run average. She picked up wins over Grambling State and two more in a sweep of Southland Conference foe Southeastern Louisiana. In 14.0 innings of work, she allowed just seven hits and one run while striking out 12.
