DES MOINES, Iowa – While relief efforts from Thursday's tornado that hit Ruston continued locally, Louisiana Tech Track & Field spent the last few days in Des Moines, Iowa, competing in one of the biggest college meets in the country as the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters notched 15 top 10 marks and six top five finishes at the 2019 Drake Relays.
"There were some big performances on a big stage for LA Tech Track & Field this weekend," head coach
Gary Stanley said following the meet. "Despite an 18-hour travel day due to weather, the team performed well this weekend considering the circumstances. It was an incredible gesture by the Drake Relays officials to take time to send well wishes to the citizens of Ruston over the PA system on Saturday, so that was nice to hear over the course of the day."
