RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech Athletics announced a number of internal staff changes for the upcoming fall, including Associate Athletic Director
Gerald Jordan's promotion from sports medicine to internal operations.
          Â
Jordan, who served as in the same role in sports medicine at Tech for the past four years, took over a position that opened when
Adam McGuirt was named the Director of Disaster Recovery and Strategic Initiatives by University President Les Guice earlier this summer.
In addition to serving on Director of Athletics Tommy McClelland's senior staff, Jordan's new role includes the oversight of facilities, event management and all capital improvements within the athletic department. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the athletic department's partnership with Adidas America, Inc., as well as sports oversight for baseball and tennis.
With Jordan's move out of sports medicine, McClelland announced two promotions within that area.
Mandy Miller was promoted to head athletic trainer while
Matt Martin was promoted to head football athletic trainer.
Miller begins her sixth year in Ruston, spending the past two as the associate athletic trainer. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Miller works primarily with the Lady Techster basketball team. Martin enters his second season in Ruston and now serves as the head football athletic trainer, after assisting Jordan last year as an assistant athletic trainer.
After serving as an assistant athletic communications director for the past seven seasons, McGuire is now an assistant athletic director for communications. He will continue to handle men's basketball, soccer and tennis and will add outdoor track and field to his primary responsibilities while assisting with football.
