Multiple Records Broken in Lopsided Win for LA Tech

Amber Posthauer scored a program-record six goals

LORMAN, Miss. – The media guide for Louisiana Tech Soccer is going to need a lot of updating after Sunday's match against Alcorn State.

Amber Posthauer netted a single-game program record six goals, one shy of tying the NCAA record, as the Lady Techsters overpowered the short-handed Lady Braves by a final score of 15-0 at Spinks-Casem Stadium.

As if that was not enough, the junior midfielder was also credited with two assists, bringing her point total to 14 which is also a new single-game program record.  She also set records for shots (19) and shots on goal (11).

As for the single-game team records, here is the list of those that were set by the LA Tech (2-0) program – 43 points, 15 goals, 10 first-half goals, 13 assists and 15-goal margin of victory.

Overshadowed by Posthauer's tremendous effort was the hat trick registered by Autumn Woodard.  The sophomore transfer netted the first goal of the day in the fourth minute when Kaylee Zettler flicked a header which was then headed at the far post by Woodard.

Her other two goals came in the first period on a one-touch finish at the far post and cleaning up a rebound from six yards out.

Posthauer's first goal was the second one scored by the Lady Techsters on the day.  It came in the 14th minute when Woodard delivered a through pass down the middle of the pitch.  Posthauer had a 1v1 with the opposing keeper and dribbled around her to find the empty net.

She then scored three of the next five goals for LA Tech.  The first one was a boom from 25 yards while the other came on converted penalty kicks.

The final two came in the second period.  One was in the 48th minute when she cut in a shot with a left-footed curl goal, the shot that broke the previous record of four goals which was set in 2014 by Taylor Dennis.  The sixth and final goal came in the 72nd minute with a one-touch shot from the left, setting a Conference USA record.

Other players got in on the goal scoring as well.  Gabrielle Parent, Connor Barker, Katelyn Davis, Kaylee Zettler and Bryce Miniefield each recorded a goal.

There was also an own goal by Alcorn State (0-2) that came just seconds before intermission.

Tuva Sallvin recorded the win in net.  It was the freshman's first appearance as a Lady Techster.

LA Tech will now travel to the state of Arkansas where they will face UAPB on Monday afternoon at the Pumphrey Soccer Complex.  Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
