RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech had a pair of Bulldogs recognized by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as senior linebacker
Trey Baldwin was named the LSWA Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore wide receiver
Wayne Toussant earned LSWA Special Teams Player of the Week.

Baldwin helped lead the Bulldogs to a 21-17 victory over UTEP after recording a season-high-tying nine tackles, including seven assisted, two solo and 0.5 for loss. Baldwin also had two pass breakups on UTEP third down plays during the third quarter to force the Miners to punt on one drive and take a field goal on another.

Toussant had a season-high 60-yard kickoff return against UTEP to put LA Tech at the UTEP40 to start a drive during the third quarter. This season, Toussant averages 29.4 yards per kickoff return after returning eight kickoffs for a total of 235 yards.

Louisiana Tech (3-1, 2-0 C-USA) returns to action Saturday when it hosts Marshall (3-0, 1-0 C-USA) at 5 p.m. (CT), in a game broadcast by CBS Sports Network.
