COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Louisiana Tech golf finished day one of the Middle Tennessee-hosted Intercollegiate at The Grove ranked seventh with a combined +1 (289) on Monday.
"We had a decent day today with a lot of bright stuff," head coach
Matt Terry said. "We just need to be a little cleaner on the par-3s and par-5s."

Hunter Battles and
Lake Juban tied for 10
th with a -1 (71) to lead Louisiana Tech.

LA Tech recorded 14 birdies as a team at The Grove, while senior
Mac Murphy recorded the team's lone eagle on hole two.

Middle Tennessee and Coastal Carolina tied for first after the first round of the tournament with a combined -4 (284). ULM -2 (286) and Mercer -1 (287) finished second and third, respectively. Southern Mississippi and Appalachian State tied for fifth after finishing at an even par team total of 288.
