ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
LA Tech will be playing in its third tournament of the season, last seeing action in Chicago when the Bulldogs finished ninth at the Highlands Invitational. Now after a couple of weeks of rest and practice, LA Tech is back out on the course as one of 15 teams competing at the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.Â
Â
The competition stiffens as the field consists of seven teams that finished last season ranked in the top 40, including three squads in the top 15 in the country.
Â
Morton Bailey was the top Bulldog in qualifying for the event. The sophomore got the 2025-26 season off to a strong start, tying for 15th at the home tournament Argent Financial Classic. Three of his six rounds have been at or under par, including back-to-back rounds of 67 and 66.
Â
Oskari Schuvalow has been the top finisher for LA Tech in both events so far, including a tie for 23rd at the Highlands Invitational after shooting 71-75-74=220 (+4). He owns a team-best 71.83 scoring average through six rounds.
Â
Gray Kingrea is back in the lineup for the Bulldogs. In the season opener, the junior shot 73-69-74=216 (E) as an individual while tallying 14 birdies in the process.
Â
Rounding out the team will be newcomers
Seth Campbell and
Chase Williams. Campbell has tied for 41st in both events played while Williams' lone action was in the Argent Financial Classic when he carded two rounds at or under par for the Bulldogs.
