Lady Techsters Announce Updated 2020-21 Schedule

RUSTON, La. – After having all of its conference matchups moved to the spring earlier this fall, Louisiana Tech head coach Amber McCray announced the revised 2020-21 volleyball schedule on Monday afternoon.

The updated schedule includes 17 matches, comprising five nonconference matchups and 12 Conference USA contests. LA Tech will play six matches inside the Thomas Assembly Center, defending its home court for the first time against Southern Miss on Feb. 21.

The Lady Techsters will open their spring slate with eight straight matches away from Ruston. McCray's squad will head to Nacogdoches, Texas, for the SFA Invitational for its first two matches of the spring. Tech will battle Tarleton State on Jan. 22 before closing out the weekend with SFA on Jan. 23.

Louisiana Tech will also face Northwestern State (Jan. 26) and Memphis (Jan. 30-31) to complete its nonconference schedule.

The conference schedule will have a similar format to that of Bulldog and Lady Techster Basketball where conference opponents will play two matches per visit. Louisiana Tech will host three opponents and travel to three conference schools to form its 12-match conference schedule.

Conference matches, except for a weekend trip to UAB, will be played on Sundays and Mondays. The Lady Techsters will host Southern Miss, UTSA and UTEP in the TAC. They will travel to Rice, UAB and North Texas. Louisiana Tech opens its conference schedule at Rice on Feb. 7 in Houston.

The Conference USA Championships are scheduled for April 1-3 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Southern Miss will serve as the host for the 2020-21 tournament.

LA Tech (0-2) played two countable nonconference matches against Southern Miss in October. The NCAA's ruling allowed volleyball programs to play countable matches during the fall although the majority of Tech's season, including all of conference play, will come in the spring.
