RUSTON – Former Louisiana Tech guard
Derric Jean will be continuing his basketball career with the signing of a professional contract to play for BC Beroe.
Based in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, BC Beroe is a member of the National Basketball League of Bulgaria and the Balkan International Basketball League.

Eric Konkol about his first Bulldog signee as head coach. "He is a tremendous example of a student-athlete. In the past 18 months, he earned his bachelor's degree, captained our team to a 22-win season, earned his master's degree and has now signed a professional basketball contract.
"The positive impact he made during his time at Louisiana Tech will be felt for a long time and we all are excited to follow the next chapter of his career."
Jean was a regular on the basketball court for LA Tech over the last five years, having played in 137 career games, fourth most in program history, and was part of 91 LA Tech victories.
During his collegiate career, the Miami, Florida native amassed 1,188 points, 418 rebounds, 348 assists and 158 steals. He was a career 38.2 percent three-point shooter, making 166 triples which ranks as the seventh most in school history.
Jean is one of only three players in program history with 1,100 points, 300 assists, 150 steals and 150 made threes.
He was named to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team in 2019-20 as a redshirt senior. Off the court, he was a two-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient.
