Lofton, Jr. Voted as C-USA Freshman of the Week

Averaged 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in week four
RUSTON – After helping Louisiana Tech to two blowout victories in week four, Kenneth Lofton, Jr. was voted as the Conference USA Freshman of the Week in an announcement made by the league office on Monday.
The freshman forward was a consistent force down low for the Bulldogs, averaging 9.5 points while shooting 60 percent from the field. He currently leads the team in field goal percentage at 56.4 and is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game.
The Port Arthur, Texas native was a key contributor on the defensive end as well, helping to hold both opponents under 60 points. The big man averaged 5.0 rebounds and led the squad in steals in both contests.
In the 85-58 win over Jackson State, he registered eight points on 4-of-5 shooting to go along with three boards and a career-high three steals. In the 86-57 victory against Lamar, he had an all-around performance with 11 points, seven boards, four assists (career-high) and three steals again.
This is the second C-USA Weekly honor for Lofton, Jr. He is only the third Bulldog in program history to garner multiple C-USA Freshman of the Week honors and the first since 2016.
LA Tech closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at ULM. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
