RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech will host ULM Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Ruston Sports Complex in the first home game of the season for the Lady Techster Softball team.
Admission is free. Due to the weather forecast for the next 24-36 hours, a determination will be made Tuesday morning as to whether the game will be played or rescheduled.
Tech is coming off a weekend that saw the Lady Techsters drop four out of five at the Big Easy Classic in Metairie while ULM posted a 2-2 record as it hosted the ULM Mardi Gras Classic in Monroe.
The Lady Techster pitching staff recorded a combined 2.72 earned run average for the weekend led by
Bre Hernandez (1-1, 2.33 ERA),
Audrey Pickett (0-2, 3.23 ERA) and
Hannah Koenig (0-1, 3.82 ERA).
Offensively, Tech was led during the weekend by
Meghan Robicheaux (.333, 1 run),
Marilyn Rizzato (.313, 1 HR, 5 RBI) and
Zoe Hicks (.308, 2 runs, 1 RBI).
ULM won a pair of games against Southern while dropping two against Stephen F. Austin this past weekend at home. The Warhawks are led offensively by Korie Kreps (.556, 4 runs, 3 RBI), Jayden Mount (.333, 2 runs, 2 RBI) and Jessie Watts (.333, 1 HR, 4 RBI).
In the circle, ULM is led by Murphy Williams (1-0, 1.75), Watts (0-0, 2.47 ERA) and Amber Coons (1-0, 2.63 ERA).
Tech leads the all-time series 67-35, including sweeping last year's two games.
