Lady Techsters Continue Homestand Against Marshall
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech will look to bounce back from a tough home loss on Saturday when they welcome Marshall to Ruston for just the second time in program history.
The Lady Techsters (10-11, 2-8 C-USA) square off with the Thundering Herd (9-12, 4-6) at 2 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center. The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on KNBB 97.7 FM with the pregame show starting at 1:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Bill Hazen and Katie Hall calling the action.
The all-time series between Tech and Marshall is deadlocked at three wins each with the Herd winning a triple overtime thriller 90-88 last season in Huntington. Amber Dixon scored 18 points with 7 rebounds in the loss.
This year's Marshall team is coming off an 80-65 win at Southern Miss on Thursday evening. The Herd boast a balanced offensive attack with Savannah Wheeler (13.5), Kristen Mayo (11.1) and Taylor Pearson (10.7) each scoring more than ten points per game.
Louisiana Tech dropped their Thursday contest – their fourth straight loss – to WKU by an 84-75. The Lady Techsters trailed early but used a 17-0 run to get back into the game in the second quarter. Grayson Bright poured in 25 points on 11-15 shooting from the floor.
After shooting 47% on three-pointers against the Lady Toppers, Tech is now shooting 33% from beyond the arc on the year. The Lady Techsters rank second in C-USA behind UAB (40%) and just ahead of Old Dominion (32%).
Tech is 9-4 at the Thomas Assembly Center this season.
