SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – For a second straight day the Louisiana Tech tennis team took on a tough Big West team and for a second straight day they dropped the match 4-1, this coming to Cal Poly on Friday afternoon at the Mustang Tennis Complex.

LA Tech (9-9) got an impressive straight-sets win from
Nadja Manjon at the top of the singles lineup, but that was their lone point as Cal Poly (9-2) recorded the doubles point and got three more points from courts two, three and five.

Claudia Oravcova not playing, the doubles lineups were shifted a bit for the Lady Techsters.Â

A new tandem was
Alexia Romero and
Ilana Tetruashvili teaming up on court two. The new duo were ahead 4-3 in their match, but the Mustangs notched 6-2 wins on the other two courts to open the scoring.

Cal Poly made it 2-0 with a straight-sets victory at the No. 3 position, but LA Tech captured the next point with Manjon upending Susanne Boyden by a score of 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1. It marked the fifth win this season from the senior at the top spot.

The Mustangs closed the match out though with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 5 position and the fourth point coming at No. 2 where
Ana Jover was able to force a third set on Emily Monaghan, but fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

LA Tech will have a day off before wrapping up its trip to the west coast on Sunday, March 8 at UC Irvine. First serve is set for 11 a.m. CT.
