Louisiana Tech Senior Associate AD for External Operations Paul Kabbes is in his third year in Ruston and provides us an inside look at his top five sporting venues in the United States. The Atlanta Braves fan and Normal, Illinois, native played baseball at Illinois Wesleyan University where he earned his business management degree in 2010. These days his most important job is being dad to newborn, Bennett, and husband to Emily.

1. Rose Bowl – I was lucky enough to attend the 2011 Rose Bowl Game between TCU and Wisconsin. This game included NFL stars like JJ Watt and Andy Dalton so that made the experience even better. In my opinion, there is no better setting to watch a game as the sun sets in the 2nd half in southern California with the San Gabriel Mountains in the backdrop. Include the New Year's Day date and the festivities with the parade that morning, which means there isn't anything better.

2. Fenway Park – The amount of tradition at this ballpark is unmatched. You can't beat a rendition of "Sweet Caroline" with 38,000 of your closest friends. The seats have way too little leg room (especially for a tall fella like myself) but what can you expect from a park built in 1912? Seats for the game I attended were down the right field line not far from the Pesky Pole which creates an awesome view.

3. Madison Square Garden – Thanks to craze surrounding "The Last Dance" and Michael Jordan's love for this arena, I couldn't leave it off. MSG has been host to so many great events, not just basketball. Knicks basketball hasn't been relevant in years but highlights from the Big East tournament, early season college basketball games, and much more make this place a can't miss attraction.

4. Augusta National – This is the only venue on my list that I haven't attended. Augusta National speaks for itself with how well manicured the course is every year and the high level of golf played on an annual basis. It is certainly a bucket list item that I hope to check off in the future. A November tournament will be unique later this year but once Jim Nantz comes on the air with "hello friends" and "a tradition unlike any other" then you know all is right in the world.

5. Wrigley Field – Since I grew up just 2 hours from this venue, it is certainly a sentimental choice. The charm of this field is only a part of the reason for the choice as the neighborhoods surrounding it creates an incredible game day experience. I dare you to watch "Rookie of the Year" and tell me you don't want to take in a game at Wrigley.
