Murphy Named First Team All-Conference USA

RUSTON, La. – The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Bulldog junior Mac Murphy, who was named First Team All-Conference USA on Thursday morning.

The Decatur, Alabama native also earned LSWA Newcomer of the Year and All-Louisiana First Team honors in April. He was the final C-USA Golfer of the Week in 2020.

"It's awesome being named first team all-conference along with other talented golfers," Murphy said. "It really shows that hard work pays off along with great coaching and great teammates"

Murphy transferred to Tech from Calhoun Community College and finished his first year as a Bulldog with an average round of 71.53. The junior was just 0.14 strokes behind Victor Lange for the lowest average round in school history.

The Decatur, Ala. native closed the season by earning Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors after carding a 211 (70-72-69) at the Tiger Invitational to finish in a tie for third. The performance was Murphy's second top-five finish of the year. He both began and ended the season with top-five finishes after placing second at the season-opening Jim Rivers Invite.
