Fans Choose @LATechVB All-Decade Team

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech volleyball fans cast nearly 500 ballots last week to choose the Lady Techsters' All-Decade Team.

The seven Lady Techsters voted to the team represent three countries, three states, and Puerto Rico. The members of the all-decade team are Clara Vido (2010-13), Caitlin Germany (2010-13), Maria Coelho (2011-14), Alejandra Aviles (2013-16), Marta Monne (2013-17), Jacie McClure (2014-17), and Madeline Davis (2016-19).

Vido played in 81 matches in a Lady Techster uniform, racking up 605 kills and 589 digs during that time. The Brazilian earned All-Louisiana Honorable Mention after leading Tech with 2.57 kills per set while also contributing 3.04 digs per set.

Germany, a middle blocker from Huntsville, Texas, shared the floor with Vido for much of her career and saw action in 108 matches at LA Tech. She led the Lady Techsters in blocks as a sophomore, junior, and senior and was a two-time WAC All-Academic honoree during her time in Ruston.

Coelho, one of two Brazilians on the All-Decade team, also earned All-Louisiana honors in 2012. She led the Techsters in assists in 2012 and 2013 while dishing out 2,002 assists in her career. Coelho also led Tech with 42 service aces in 2012 and her 0.39 aces per set ranked second in Conference USA.

Aviles already owns a place in the LA Tech record books as the all-time career leader in digs (1,573) and the career record-holder in digs per set (4.18). The San Juan, Puerto Rico native also tied a Lady Techster record with 35 digs in a match against ULM in 2015.

Monne earned All-Louisiana first team honors as a junior and senior while also picking up an All-Conference USA second team selection as a senior. The Italian led the Lady Techsters in kills and kills per set as a sophomore and senior.

McClure is Tech's lone AVCA Academic All-American, earning the award in 2017. The all-decade team's only Louisiana native averaged 2.94 digs per set that season and 2.58 for her career. She also totaled up 38 service aces.

Davis, a middle blocker turned outside hitter from Mount Pulaski, Ill., set a school record in her first game as a Lady Techster by racking up 13 blocks in a match against UIC. She had nine or more blocks on three occasions, which is tied for most all-time. Davis also hit .280 for her LA Tech career.
