CHOUDRANT – Louisiana Tech finished the second round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate tied for seventh with a combined +7 (583) on Monday.

James Swash tied for ninth after the first two rounds with a -1 (143) to lead the Bulldogs.

Swash birdied on five holes in the second round, and had a great back nine after finishing the back half three under par (33). Â

"Individually, I played really solid today," Swash said. "I made a few stupid errors which cost me, but I managed to get my round back together on the back nine."

"As a team, we didn't quite perform today," Swash said. "We gave away too many shots carelessly, but after talking with the our coach and after the round, I'm feeling positive that we will shoot a good score tomorrow and, hopefully, move us up a few places."

No. 44 UAB ranks first heading into the final round of the tournament with a combined -17 (559). Texas State -9 (567), ULM -4 (572), South Alabama -2 (574) and Little Rock -1 (575) round out the top five.

Louisiana Tech will tee off on Tuesday at 9:40 and 9:50 a.m. at hole 10 in the final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
