Track and Field Announces 2021 Indoor Schedule

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech head coach Gary Stanley announced the 2021 indoor track and field schedule Thursday afternoon, which includes two meets before the Conference USA Indoor Championships on Feb. 20-21 in Birmingham, Alabama.

"We look forward to getting a chance to compete starting later this month at a world-class facility in Birmingham," Stanley said. "With the 2020 outdoor season being canceled due to COVID-19, all of us are just excited to see our student-athletes compete for the first time in a year."

All three meets, including the C-USA Championships, will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters open their season on Jan. 31 at the Kevin Stephens Invitational.

The team will return to Birmingham just one week later to compete in the Jaguar Invitational on Feb. 7. South Alabama will serve as the host for Tech's final regular-season indoor meet.

The C-USA Championships will be held in Birmingham for the 10th straight year. The men's team finished in sixth place in 2020's indoor championships, while the women's team placed 11th. Denzel Harper paced the Bulldogs with a first-place finish in the long jump, besting the second-place finisher by more than six inches.

The NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
