RUSTON, La. -- After seeing eight of their first 11 games postponed or canceled due to Mother Nature, Louisiana Tech softball has added three games this weekend that will be played at Lady Jaguars Field on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge.

Tech will play a doubleheader Saturday at 12 p.m. against North Alabama and then a single game Sunday against Southern, coached by former Lady Techster assistant John Garris.

"I want to thank Coach Garris and the Southern administration for their efforts in adding us to their weekend schedule," said Tech Interim Head Coach Bianca Duran. "I also appreciate North Alabama for their willingness to play us this weekend. Our players are excited about the chance to go down and compete. It's been hard for them to see so many of our games canceled due to reasons that are out of our control. This will be an opportunity for us to get better."

The Lady Techsters are 1-2 on the young season following last night's loss at ULM. Tech is set to open the home portion of their schedule at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field on March 5-7 when it hosts Baylor and Tarleton State.
