BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Tech men's golf team had a strong second round performance at the LSU Invitational after finishing Saturday's round with a +1 (289), which was tied for the fourth best team score of the round.

"I loved the response by this team," head coach
Matt Terry said. "They went out and played like they are capable of today. They played well and still made some mistakes. They know that, but Dogs will hunt."

Seniors Sam and
Mac Murphy led the way for the Bulldogs on Saturday, finishing the round with a -5 (67) and a -2 (70), respectively.

S. Murphy finished at-or-under par through his first 12 holes. The senior then carded four straight birdies on holes five through eight and finished at-par for his final hole of the day.

M. Murphy finished at-par through his first six holes before carding back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17. The senior also carded three straight birdies on holes two through four. He led LA Tech in the first round of the LSU Invitational after finishing Friday with a +4 (76).

Will Patrick (170, 89th) rounded out Tech's scoring. Junior
Blake Blaser is competing individually, scoring a +12 (156, T-70th) through the first two days. Overall, Tech ranks 15th with a combined +40 (616).

No. 11 Florida leads the LSU Invitational with a +3 (579) after the first two rounds. No. 6 Illinois +6 (582), No. 19 Vanderbilt +11 (587), Arkansas State +11 (587) and South Carolina +12 (588) rounded out the top five.

Sunday will mark the final round of the LSU Invitational, with the first Bulldog teeing off at 9:20 a.m. CT.
