CARROLLTON, Texas – The Louisiana Tech men's golf team defeated North Texas, 4-2, in its head-to-head match play contest at the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, on Thursday.

Tech took on a North Texas team who entered Thursday's match ranked No. 18 by Golfstat. Three Bulldogs won their matchups in senior
Mac Murphy (2&1), senior
Sam Murphy (1 up) and junior
James Swash (4&3). LA Tech and UNT each earned a half point for both junior
Blake Blaser and sophomore
Lake Juban's matches after the pair finished all-square. The Mean Green earned a point after winning its contest against sophomore
Hunter Battles (4&3).

After being all-square through the first hole, Swash led for the entirety of his match. S. Murphy never trailed in his matchup, which came down to the par-4 18 that he won with a birdie. M. Murphy took his first lead on hole 13 and didn't let it go to secure another Bulldog point.
Louisiana Tech next heads to the Kennesaw State-hosted Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Ga., from March 12-14.
