RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech senior golfer
Mac Murphy was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Murphy tied for second at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational after finishing the two-day tournament with a four-under 212 (71-71-70). He carded a total of 12 birdies during the tournament, including four birdies in each of the three rounds. Murphy played his best round of the tournament on Tuesday after finishing the day with a two-under 70. He shot at or under par on 16 of the 18 holes while registering birdies on holes one, four, eight and 16. Murphy finished each of Monday's two rounds with a one-under 71 and carded a team-best eight birdies.

Murphy is the second Bulldog to earn C-USA honors this season after his brother, Sam, was named the C-USA Golfer of the Week on Feb. 18. It marks the second time in his LA Tech career that M. Murphy has earned C-USA Golfer of the Week honors.

Murphy and Tech will next compete at the C-USA Championship which will take place in Texarkana, Texas/Ark., from Monday, April 26, to Thursday, April 29.
