Bulldog Basketball Announces Conference Schedule

RUSTON – Reigning West Division champion Louisiana Tech announced on Thursday the Conference USA portion of the 2021-22 men's basketball schedule.

The 18-game league slate will again be split into two divisions.  LA Tech will play its six West Division opponents twice in a home-and-home series and play six of the seven East Division opponents once.

The West Division opponents consist of UTEP, UTSA, Rice, North Texas, Southern Miss and UAB.  From the East Division, the Bulldogs will host Marshall, WKU and Old Dominion while traveling to take on Florida Atlantic, FIU and Charlotte.

Six of the first nine league matchups will take place inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court, starting with the C-USA opener on Dec. 30 versus Marshall.  The Bulldogs began conference play last season against the Thundering Herd.

Next up will be a showdown in the TAC between the defending Division champions.  LA Tech will battle WKU on New Year's Day in Ruston, this after playing the Hilltoppers twice in Bowling Green, Kentucky each of the last two seasons.

LA Tech's first road swing will be to the Lone Star State to take on UTEP and UTSA on Jan. 6 and 8, respectively.

The following week, the 'Dogs will face their travel partner Southern Miss in a home-and-home, starting at the TAC on Jan. 13 and then a meeting in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Jan. 16.  LA Tech and USM have played 87 times, a series that dates back to 1933.

The Bulldogs close out the month of January with three straight home games against UAB (Jan. 22), Rice (Jan. 27) and North Texas (Jan. 29).

A three-game road stretch follows against three East Division foes, starting with a trip to the Sunshine State to face Florida Atlantic on Feb. 3 and FIU on Feb. 5.  The road swing ends at Charlotte on Feb. 10.

The next four games will be rematches as LA Tech hosts UTEP and UTSA on Feb. 17 and Feb. 19, then travels to Rice on Feb. 24 and North Texas on Feb. 26.

The regular season concludes with two games in March, a home matchup against Old Dominion (March 3) and a contest at UAB (March 6).
