RUSTON, (Nov. 9, 2022) – Louisiana Tech head coach Sonny Cumbie spoke with the media on Tuesday in advance of Tech's matchup at UTSA on Saturday

Opening Statement…
"We will be going on the road in a really tough environment with a good opponent in UTSA. Coach Traylor has done a phenomenal job since he has been there and his players player really hard for him. They do a really good job in all three phases of the game. You can tell their players respond really well to their coaching staff with the success of last season and the season before that… They are a team and program that you want your players to see and look at."

On Myles Brooks and Willie Roberts… 
"Consistency has been the key. Myles Brooks and Willie Roberts have done a great job and Coach Marcus Walker has done a really good job with them. They have fit in really well with our team and coach Power is really confident with them and what they can do with our team and in our scheme. They have a great mentality to play their positions and are very confident in what they can do. They are challenged because of the techniques they have played and they have responded. Myles with two interceptions and Willie with the picks-six. We are glad that they are with us… They have been a huge impact to our team and to our defense."

On Parker McNeil…
"He is as tough as they come in terms of players that I have coached. When you think about the quarterback position and having to throw the ball with the injuries he's sustained this year. He still continues to go out there each week and play. I cannot say enough about his toughness. He dislocated his finger and then threw a touchdown pass three players later. Nobody can ever question his toughness. All time he is the toughest player I have coached in terms of the grit that he plays with."
