ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (20-7, 11-4 C-USA)
LA Tech was able to make 10 key free throws in the final two minutes to hang on and defeat Rice in Houston by a final score of 83-79 on Thursday night.  It was the Bulldogs first win in Tudor Fieldhouse since 2016.  They had five players score in double figures and exploded for 49 second-half points in a game they led for almost 37 minutes.

It was the 20th victory of the season for LA Tech, the ninth time in the last 10 seasons they have accomplished this feat (28th time in program history).  It was also the Bulldogs eighth road win, improving to 8-3 in true road games (most road victories since the 2014-15 season).

After the Bulldogs shot a season-low 33.9 percent from the field in the loss to UTEP, they have since shot 53.3 percent in the win over UTSA and 51.7 percent in the win versus Rice with an average of 89 points scored.  They currently rank second in the league and 28th in the country in scoring offense at 78.4 points per game.

Kenneth Lofton, Jr. (16.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game), Amorie Archibald (13.3 points per game), Keaston Willis (12.3 points per game) and Cobe Williams (11.1 points per game) continue to pace the team.

ABOUT NORTH TEXAS (21-4, 14-1 C-USA)
West Division leader North Texas extended its winning streak to 13 on Thursday with a dominating 85-61 victory over Southern Miss.  The Mean Green have the nation's fourth-longest active winning streak, having not lost since their one league defeat to UAB back on Jan. 6 (have won 19 of their last 20 games).

UNT has the No. 1 scoring defense in the country, allowing just 55.4 points per game.  One of the main reasons is their ability to guard the three, allowing opponents to shoot just 28.2 percent from beyond the arc (fifth-best in the nation).  Only once all season has an opponent made more than six three-pointers against them (last four opponents have combined to make only 12 triples).

On the flipside, the Mean Green are stellar from three-point range.  During conference play, they are shooting a league-best 42.2 percent from deep.

They have four players averaging double-digit points, led by Tylor Perry who is averaging 14.0 points off the bench.  Behind him is Thomas Bell who is averaging 12.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.

THE SERIES
LA Tech leads the all-time series with North Texas, 27-14.  Since becoming C-USA opponents, the Bulldogs have a 9-7 advantage in the series.  The Mean Green have won the last three meetings, including a 63-62 win in Ruston earlier this season, but the 'Dogs have won in Denton each of the last two seasons.

Over the last five seasons, the series is split at 5-5 with nine of those 10 matchups being decided by six points or less (five of those have been decided by two points or less).
