Coach Alex Holt Invited to Marine Corps Command Workshop

The Workshop takes place May 10 through 14

RUSTON, La. – Assistant volleyball coach Alex Holt is off to Quantico, Virginia to attend the Marine Corps Recruiting Command Coaches' Workshop from May 10 through May 14.

Holt was invited to attend this workshop as it is designed to provide coaches from universities all around the country to understand how college-students are recruited and developed into Marine officers.

"I am excited and very much looking forward to attending the USMC Coaches' Workshop," said Holt. "I believe this experience will provide a new perspective on building leadership through coaching and within myself and I am honored to have been selected to participate."

"I have a unique connection to the Marine Corps which sparked my initial interest in applying for the work shop. As a student-athlete at the University of the Pacific, my head coach was a USMC veteran. I can attribute my discipline and high expectations for myself and within my coaching philosophy to playing under Coach Gibbons at Pacific."

"In addition to playing under a Marine veteran, my first coaching opportunity after graduation at Cisco College was also under a Marine veteran. I am eager to see how their Marine Corps experience shaped them as coaches and have a better understanding of the coaches who helped shape me."

The Marine Corps workshop offers the valuable tools to strengthen coaching and leadership skills. A remarkable opportunity for Holt as she looks to bring back and share knowledge to our LA Tech student-athletes and community.
