RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech falls to Florida Atlantic 5-2 on Sunday dropping the series at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
 
LA Tech (33-17, 15-9 C-USA) drops the rubber match against Florida Atlantic (30-18, 15-9 C-USA) as the Owls homer twice and use a strong start from Tyler Burnham.
 
The Owls jumped out in front in the first inning of the finale. Following a fielding error, Nolan Schanuel launched his 13^th home run of the year taking an early 2-0 lead. FAU has managed to score in the first inning of all three games.
 
In the top of the second, FAU plated one more on a two-out, two-run single from Armando Albert.
 
The Bulldog bullpen was solid keeping the game tight. Jarret Whorff entered the game in the top of the second with two outs to calm the storm. Whorff went 4.1 innings allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six. Greg Martinez and Kyle Crigger combined for three innings of shutout ball.
 
The Owls scored two more in the sixth when Nicholas Toney blasted a solo shot over the right field wall and Schanuel doubled down the right field line to bring in the fifth run taking a 5-0 lead.
 
Bulldog catcher Jorge Corona got the squad on the board in the sixth, belting his 11^th home run of the season.
 
LA Tech scratched one more in the eighth as Logan McLeod singled up the middle with two on and two outs bringing home Corona.
