RUSTON – Louisiana Tech's Ashley Taylor was one of seven players voted to the Big Orange Bash All-Tournament Team.
 
The middle blocker made her LA Tech debut and shined while starting in all three matches of the 2022 season-opening tournament in Clemson, South Carolina. 
 
On offense, she tallied 32 total kills (12 vs. Austin Peay, 12 vs. Presbyterian and eight at Clemson) which tied for the second most on the squad and the fifth most of any player in the tournament.
 
Taylor finished the round-robin event with a hitting percentage of .410, which was tops in the event for players with a minimum of 60 total attacks. 
 
On defense, she tied with three other players for the tournament high with nine blocks (four solo, five assisted).   
 
The Lady Techsters ended up posting a 3-1 (25-13, 17-25, 26-24, 25-16) victory over the Blue Hose to secure their first win of the new season. 
 
Taylor and LA Tech return to action on Wednesday, Aug. 31 for its home opener against Grambling State.  First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.
