Louisiana Tech volleyball team landed two on the Central Arkansas Invitational All-Tournament team over the weekend, Andrea Spasojevic and Ashley Jones. They each earned a spot on the All-Tournament after LA Tech won two of their three matches in Conway, Ark.
Jones averaged .75 aces, 8.16 assists, and 1.8 digs per set, to help the Lady Techsters finish 2-1 in the Central Arkansas Invitational. The setter collected 9 aces, 98 assists and 22 digs on the weekend. Jones finished with five aces, 23 assists, and four digs against Southern Illinois, giving her a new season-high in aces. Facing off with ULM brought Jones to a total of two aces, 45 assists and tying her season-high digs with 14. In the final match of the invitational, Jones was able to continue her efforts with 30 assists, two aces and 4 digs to land her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Spasojevic on the other hand, averaged 3.33 kills, 2.5 digs, and 3.79 points per set to help lead LA Tech to two of three tried over the weekend. The Lady Techsters' outside hitter totaled 44.5 points, along with 40 kills and 30 digs to record her fourth double-double in a row, three included in the Central Arkansas Invitational. Spasojevic finished with 11 kills, 10 digs and 12 points in the first match against Southern Illinois. She followed with 14 kills, 10 digs and 17.5 digs in their second match-up of the invitational against ULM. Facing off with Central Arkansas, Spasojevic had 15 kills, 10 digs and 15 points to finished the weekend off and earn All-Tournament team honors.
The Lady Techsters will continue their season by heading on the road this Friday to compete in the Battle of the Boot.
